]]>Sometimes my paintings have no words. They just take me to places that feel familiar. It’s always comforting to see a land that has lived within – finally become tangible. I keep moving through this world even when it feels frozen. I keep floating towards the future, even when the past walks right beside me. This is what it looks like amongst the clouds; they hold onto memories that have become too heavy to carry. They treasure the stories untold like keepsakes. They turn them into a light filled mist ready to shower everything beautiful and everything promised.

]]>“What the hell is happening to my Unicorn friend and why is he turning into an Eeyore?” Human asked her bird guides.
They replied, “Our dear Human, it seems your Unicorn has been holding onto so much hope that it’s depleted him.”
Human responded, “Being a Unicorn, you would think hope would fuel him….”
Bird guides answered, “Hope was very popular back in the day but now we are encouraging young creatures to embrace Courage instead. It allows you to take a more balanced approach and action towards that which you are hopeful for.”
Human asked, “Will he return back to his old self?”
Bird guides replied, “Unfortunately his droopiness is quite advanced but we have hope that he will return to a newer and more wise Unicorn soon enough. Once he has the courage to move, his world will look yellow and bright.”

]]>And the sky handed her a silver rose that had been carved out of the moon. Its petals were like mirrors – a reflection of all those heartfelt beliefs that somehow had been lost.
“Ouch!” she cried. “I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but you went to all the trouble of carving me a rose out of the moon and you decided to leave in all of its thorns?”
Sky replied “We wanted you to understand that in order to learn and grow, you may need to experience some anguish… but if you look deep within, that’s when you’ll be able to see all of its value and magic.
“Isn’t there a way to blossom without all of that?” she asked.
Sky spoke, “Unfortunately the birds and I haven’t figured that one out just yet. That being said, we can’t wait for you to eventually receive the Gold Rose. We think you’ll be ready for that in no time.”
“But that means more pain?” she asked.
“More beauty…” Sky whispered.

]]>Long long ago, a newly born soul was created up in heaven and then split down the middle forming two individual souls. Even though they were half of the other, they were completely whole within themselves. Their mission was to remember this and so they made a pact for when they were to come down to earth.
Each soul promised to create life events, (no matter how challenging) that would ultimately lead their hearts to find one another again. They lit a candle, looked into each other’s eyes and repeated, “Never forget – as above, so below.”
Of course they found each other again, but only this time they were dressed in fully grown bird suits. It was because of their strong desire to fly towards the truth of their mission – unconditional love and recognising their wholeness.
In times where the universe had to pull them apart, their spirits continued to collide as they recognised that the other half of their soul was already living inside of them anyway. Once they understood this, they could fly together for good.
They were lucky. Their life was long and they lived each moment slowly. The more moments of love they were able to share together, the more they were able to grasp onto something infinite and something beautiful. When they reached the old age of 11000, they held onto each other’s wings, closed their eyes and said “As below, so above. Never forget.”

]]>“What brings you here?” asked the Magic Horse.
“Well…” she said. “I’ve been having flashbacks into the future and I was hoping you could untangle my timeline.”
The Magic Horse responded, “If I untie your memories you would never be able to come visit me. They always talk about ‘being here now’…. but, being here now has always been a combination of being here then, being here still, being here soon and being here again.
Hearts that know how to live in every world are able to feel it all. Stay tangled. It’s more beautiful that way.”

]]>Fairy bird held Unicorn’s golden teardrop and made sure that it remained sparkling. She faced the Unicorn showing him all that he had learnt thus far. “You have finally arrived and now it is just a home-straight from here.”
Unicorn replied, “I don’t know if I have much energy left and once I make it to the finish line I am certain there will be another journey waiting for me to embark upon. I don’t think I can do it…”
Fairy bird answered, “I have preserved your most precious tear and have been waiting to give this to you ever since it fell from your eyes.”
Unicorn looked confused. “I remember that tear very well but I don’t remember it looking as beautiful as I see it to be now.”
Fairy bird replied. “It is because you can now see the wisdom that it has bestowed upon you. Before, all you could see was pain.”
“What am I supposed to do with this?” Unicorn asked. “It looks heavy.”
Fairy bird said, “I suggest you carry it with you for the rest of this journey. It may remind you of what was, but if you let it – it will be the jewel that takes you to where you’ve been headed and will be the strength that guides you back.
“Back where?” Unicorn questioned. “I thought I was going forward?”
Fairy bird looked at Unicorn and said, “We know you’ll understand this message in due time.”
