About Me

THOUGHT THROUGH EXPRESSION

Thank you so much for being here – my name is Shoshi and I am an Artist and an Art Therapist. I’ve always had this bottomless desire to understand our thoughts and emotions on a deeper level as well as holding an intrinsic resonance with symbolism and imagery. I’ve always recognized its great capacity to heal. I believe that art has the ability to connect us with our most personal truths.

MY STORIES ON CANVAS

As I am painting, I never know what story will unfold or what creatures will emerge onto my canvas. That being said, I trust that whatever or whoever visits my painting does so for an important reason and therefore always offers a special message.  I understand that even if my stories veer towards a darker path during the creative process, more often than not – the paintbrush will find a way to find marks and patterns which lead me to newfound faith.

THE THEMES OF MY WORK

It seems that my latest works embody the theme of love; the blessings, lessons and heartbreakingly beautiful stories that will always have an element of hope, depending on how we choose to see. I frequently end up exploring themes of union – not just with another but with all aspects of self. I consistently embrace endless reflection alongside flowing possibilities that connection and relationship tend to bring. I believe that even through loss, so much can be gained. I believe that every encounter or experience, no matter how complex or multidimensional can be transformed – as every life is a magical myth waiting to be re-created again and again.  Even without ‘knowing’ what will appear, I always intuitively choose to create the world I want on my canvas… and sometimes these worlds even end up coming true.

Thoughts & Inspiration

I’m so glad you’re here because this artistic journey has been anything but straightforward. When I first began painting, sharing my art felt like revealing the deepest parts of my inner world. But through this creative process, I discovered that making art has been not only transformative but profoundly healing.

From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be an artist. As a child, I dreamed of being “an artist and a teacher.” I instinctively knew that creativity was fundamental to who I am. During childhood, painting and drawing came naturally. We didn’t care about whether the colours matched or if our scribbles made sense. We created for the sheer joy of it—to explore, release, and embrace freedom. That openness, for me was stifled over time by school, university, and life itself. By reconnecting with that free-spirited space, I’ve had to suspend judgement and let go of the pressure to create art in a specific way.

Intuitive painting has brought me back to that sense of unrestricted creativity. It’s taught me to be kinder to parts of myself, that at times seek to be seen or understood in a particular way. It’s helped me embrace the things I feel called to express, and to relinquish control, trusting in the unfolding of something authentic and true.

Art has become a practice in honesty, and surrender. It reminds me to release markings or colours that no longer serve me, to welcome curiosity, and to feel more comfortable with the unknown.
